Opening Expiration key failed error

Problem Description

When calling a Persits Software component's method, the following error is generated:

Opening Expiration key failed.

Solution

This error is due to tight security settings in the system registry.

Run regedt32 (not regedit!), open the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Persits Software\<component name>\Expires

From the main menu, select Security/Permissions. Give "Everyone" Full Control.

<component name> should be one of the following depending on the component you are using:

AspEmail
AspEncrypt
AspGrid3
AspJpeg
AspUpload3
AspUser
XUpload
