Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) is the de-facto world-wide standard for creating and exchanging platform-independent documents. Giving your ASP/ASP.NET-based Web applications the power to generate and modify PDF documents on the fly opens endless opportunities for you and your users.

Currently still in development, AspPDF is expected to be released sometime in the 4th quarter of 2003, although a public beta will be available very soon. In fact, AspPDF is already so feature-rich and stable that we decided to put together several live demo applications demonstrating a few of the product’s key features.

1. Form Fill-Out	With AspPDF, you can automatically fill out an existing blank PDF form with text information, and even place a drawing of a human signature on it.
2. Database-Driven Reporting	AspPDF's table support helps generate reports from data residing in the database.
3. Encryption and Permissions	A single method call makes a PDF document secure. AspPDF supports both 40-bit and 128-bit encryption.
4a. Multi-Language Support	PDF documents generated by AspPDF can contain text in any language, as long as an appropriate font is available. This demo is based on the Arial font supporting Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew and Arabic alphabets.
4b. Multi-Language Support, CJK	This demo is based on the SimHei font supporting Chinese/Japanese/Korean characters.
5. Invoice Generation	A PDF document can be sent directly to a user's browser without creating a temporary copy on disk. This demo also demonstrates image support.
6. Content Extraction	Upload a PDF document from your hard drive to our server and let AspPDF extract raw text information from its first page, along with general document properties. Please do not attempt to upload files larger than 300KB.
7. Secure E-mail	With AspPDF and a mailing component (such as AspEmail or CDONTS), you can send cross-platform password-protected email with file attachments.
8. Barcodes	AspPDF can place barcodes on PDF documents. All major barcode standards are supported, including UPC, Code-39 and Industrial 2/5.
9. Stitching	Two or more PDFs can be "stitched" together to form a new document.
